Tightly nestled in the heart of the Riviersonderend mountains, between the twin villages of Greyton and McGregor, a double storey, stone house catch the eye, aptly named – Eagle’s Nest. From the stone patios the real world is a far off memory.
The famous Boesmanskloof/The Galg Trail is literally at the front door of this stone house and all hikers of this trail pass by its presence on the trail.
A permit is needed to do the well known Boesmanskloof/The Galg Trail of approximately 6 hours to Greyton and back. This can be obtained from Cape Nature or the tourist offices in either Greyton or McGregor. A half day (3 hours) walking trail is also a possibility to the Oak Falls if you sleepover at Eagle’s Nest. A half day permit is needed for this.
